Kaua’i in National Spotlight

Sep 17th, 2008 by admin | 0

My boss found this article in the Garden Island Newspaper- very interesting! Although I can’t believe that the Bellagio Fountains came in above Waimea Canyon…

“Kaua’i is in the spotlight this week, making two top ten lists of desirable destinations. In addition, the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa was named in Expedia’s Insiders’ Select list of the tops 25 resorts- the only property in Hawai’i among the top 100.

The Resort was ranked No. 21 by Expedia for quality and overall value. The list of resorts represent the top 1 percent of the more that 70,000 hotels offered on Expedia.com

Also this week, Hanalei Beach came in second on a list of best beaches compiled annually by Florida International University professor Stephen P. Leatherman, otherwise known as “Dr. Beach.” The Kaua’i North Shore coastline was beat only by Caladesi Island, Fla.

Finally, Waimea Canyon landed the No. 3 spot among TripAdvisor’s top 10 free attractions in the US, trailing behind the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas and Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA., respectively.

The ranking was determined by a combination of TipAdvisor editors and overall popularity on the travel company’s website.”
