Community Wins Privilege of Dog Walking on Lihue-Anahola Path
After a long process, dogs and their walkers are now welcome on a portion of the Lihue-Anahola Path. Your willingness to get involved, coupled with responsive, enlightened County leadership make it happen!
Your support continues to ensure that the 18 month trial period, which began on December 1, 2008 is a success. The dog-friendly portion of pathway is roughly two miles from Lihi Boat Ramp to the picnic shelter nearest Kealia River.
On Path Reminders!
There are several requirements of all dog walkers. Handlers must be in command and in control of the dog at all times. A limit of no more than two dogs per handler is required. Walkers must visibly carry the necessary instruments required for the removal and disposal of dog poop. All dogs must have a current dog license tag and be on a leash no more than 6 feet long.
